Comparison of three Garden Shredders
Cultivators are becoming more and more popular in the garden for a simple reason, they make digging the garden much easier. Weather it be flower beds, allotments or vegetable patches; they make light work for a difficult job.
The Mantis cultivator is possibly the most versatile cultivator that you can get and is certainly the best selling one for the domestic environment and is perfect for digging your flower beds and vegetable patches and other small areas in a domestic environment. Very easy to operate, two stroke engine so you’ve got the fuel and oil mix which goes in there. Very light which is the other reason why this is so popular, very easy to move round the garden and does a very good job.
Once you start moving up into larger areas, perhaps allotment sized areas, where the ground is a bit tougher but never the less, has previously been dug over The Alko MH370 is an excellent machine. The engine is getting a lot more powerful, you have a four horsepower engine in there; this will do large areas very, very well.
Stepping up from that, you have the Badger Cultivator with a very powerful six and a half horsepower engine, it’s not a virgin ground breaker but it will get through soil that is very, very dense and is very good for large areas. It has the advantage of transport wheels underneath so getting around the allotment is a lot easier.
So three very good cultivators but you’ve got to think about the area of the ground that you are going to be cultivating and the density of the soil that you are going to be cultivating. The Mantis is great for a domestic environment but as soon as you start looking to move up into larger areas or denser soil then you’ve got to be looking at more powerful machines; The Alko or the Badger are more powerful machines.
