Choosing a chain saw

A Chainsaw should last you for a good many years if you by a high quality machine in the first place, and look after it. The chainsaw should also be right for the tasks you will ask of it during its lifetime of tree felling and tree surgery. Its not only tree surgeons that need chainsaws.

Smaller chainsaws for home use

For light gardening use select a chainsaw that is small and light. Husqvarna have a good range. It will prove much easier to use for branch cutting or tree felling. The guide bar; this is the grooved elliptical bar around which the chain runs, need not be longer than 18 inches. The larger chainsaws are really intended for professional tree or forestry work. Don't be confused because manufacturers such as Husqvarna cater for both markets.

A smaller bar chainsaw is much more maneuverable and less likely to get its nose (the end of the chainsaw ) caught up whilst in use, and dirty in the ground. Don't forget not all chainsaw use will be straight forward tree felling. Removal of awkward branches, tree felling in awkward positions and other difficult situations make smaller chainsaws an advantage for amateur tree surgery.

Electric and Petrol Chainsaws

For home tree surgery there will be a choice of an electric chainsaw of a petrol chainsaw. The major disadvantage of and electric chainsaw is, of course the cable that will follow you around. The Petrol chainsaw does not have this disadvantage, and depending on the model will probably deliver more power. Husqvarna produce high quality professional chainsaws for tree surgeons. The lower end of the Husqvarna range are also suitable for the home garden or small scale tree felling.

Length of bar of the chainsaw

Whilst choosing your chainsaw, you should also remember that a shorter bar has to drives the chain a shorter distance. The chainsaw will therefore have increased power. Most reputable brands produce a wide of chainsaw length, But Husqvarna ranges from 13 inch to 28inch.

The size of chainsaw you choice should be determined by the work you intend it to do. Husqvanra have a reputation for producing good quality chainsaws, and this applies equally to a top of the range chainsaw intended for daily tree felling use by tree surgeons, as well as smaller chainsaws for the home garden. Many for the features and certainly the high quality parts that Husqvarna uses in the chainsaws intended for tree surgeons, and utilized in other Husqvarna models.
